Discussion: Grass- Family Poaceae. Monocot. Grows in rounded fountainlike tufts. Leaves: up to 20" long, less than 1/8" wide, somewhat rolled lenghtwise. Flowers: clusters open, elongate, and many branched with pungent aroma; purple to blackish tufted with wiry culms. Seeds: round, ball-like.
