Discussion: Grass- Family Poaceae.Monocot. Grows in dense clusters. Stems: portions blue-purple. Flowers: scattered along upper parts of stalks. Flower cluster long, white hairs creating a feathery appearance.Paired spikelets sessile. One is fertile and awned, the other is pedicillate and sterile. Some bloom as early as mid-June. Roots: rhizomes. Grows to 4'.
