Discussion: Grass- Family Poaceae. Monocot. Short fine grass which usually grows in patches. Leaves: deep green or yellow-green stem and leaves. Leaf tips boat shaped. Grows to 2'. Flowers:head with 3-5 branches and stalk round.
Special_diagnostic_characters: Along with P. angustifolia, this is only rhizomatous species of Poa in Illinois with intermediate lemma nerves glabrous.
